Spoilers ahead
Zack Feather, Jeff Bridges, and Laban Feather, Rod Steiger, lead rival families in rural Tennessee, their feud rooted in old pride and a code of honor that cannot be broken. The Feathers and the Gutshalls inhabit the same stretch of countryside, with the patriarchs clinging to separate traditions even as the younger generation tests the limits of loyalty and revenge. Pap Gutshall and Laban Feather anchor two worlds that seem destined to collide, and the tension between them quietly but insistently pushes the town toward a breaking point.
