The infamous Cyrus (Kevin Hart), a master thief with a reputation that spans the globe, assembles an elite crew of specialists to execute a daring heist operation. This diverse group comprises the rugged pilot Camila (Ursula Corbero), the brilliant hacker Mi-Sun (Kim Yoon-Ji), the skilled safe-cracker Magnus (Billy Magnussen), and the resourceful engineer Luke (Viveik Kalra). Denton (Vincent D'Onofrio), a seasoned operative, rounds out the team with his unique set of skills. Together, they embark on a complex operation that involves simultaneous thefts in London and Venice.

In London, they successfully pilfer a priceless Van Gogh painting, while in Venice, they orchestrate the fake kidnapping of N8 (Jacob Batalon), a renowned digital artist. N8's prized possession is an NFT self-portrait mask comprising 482 cameras, which captures a live 30-second feed from the auction itself. This innovative creation will instantly become a digital artifact once it's sold, complete with a record of its buyer.

Cyrus and his team cleverly stage N8's kidnapping to capitalize on the chaos. They sell the stolen Van Gogh painting in the black market for $20 million and use the funds to acquire N8's NFTs. As the value of the NFT balloons to a staggering $89 million, N8 decides to celebrate with his "kidnappers" after being promised a substantial cut ($27 million) of the profits.

However, Interpol agent Abby Gladwell (Gugu Mbatha-Raw), a former romantic partner of Cyrus, uncovers evidence linking Denton to the theft. Her keen observation skills deduce that Denton's limp is artificial and that he participated in the auction, making a bid exceeding $10 million without the funds to cover it. This illegal activity makes him eligible for extradition to the US.

Instead of targeting the entire crew, Abby's superior, Commander Huxley (Sam Worthington), seizes an opportunity to manipulate their situation. He leverages their predicament to coerce them into helping capture billionaire Lars Jorgenson (Jean Reno), who plans to collaborate with the notorious hacking group Leviathan to orchestrate a massive flooding in Europe. This catastrophic event would allow Lars to reap billions of dollars through stock manipulation.

Lars's previous scheme, short-selling airline stocks after the tragic crash of a New Zealand plane that claimed 189 lives, earned him millions. Now, Huxley has an inside mole, Arthur Tigue, within Lars's organization, providing valuable intel for their joint operation. With the stakes incredibly high and the tension palpable, Cyrus and his team must navigate this complex web of deceit to prevent a global catastrophe.

As Leviathan's demand for a substantial payment of $500 million in untraceable gold bullion looms large, Jorgenson orchestrates a clandestine operation to transport the valuable payload from his vault in London to Zurich via a commercial airliner. The logistics are carefully planned, with Huxley seeking Cyrus and his crew to intercept this transaction and pilfer the gold en route. However, Huxley's plan is foiled by the fact that the transfer is a legal transaction, making it impossible for him to intervene.

Cyrus, aware of Lars' reputation as a formidable adversary, is cautious but Abby's tantalizing offer of full immunity for him and his entire crew proves too enticing to resist. As part of the deal, Cyrus insists that Abby join the team, leveraging her Interpol connections to ensure their backs are covered in case things go awry.

The stakes are high, as the gold shipment weighs a staggering ten tons and will be transported under heavy escort from Heathrow airport to Zurich. The crew determines that their only window of opportunity to steal the gold lies during the airliner's mid-air journey, prompting them to procure a private jet from art collector Molsen.

Camila, an expert pilot, will fly the private jet directly beneath the A-380, allowing Mi-Sun to manipulate the radar signals and create a diversion. The plan hinges on Mi-Sun's expertise in hacking the transponder signal, mimicking the A-380's frequency and fooling Brussels ATC into tracking their flight.

Abby has cultivated connections with a contact in Brussels who will aid them in this endeavor, while Harry agrees to lend his private jet to Cyrus in exchange for a substantial payment. The deal is sweetened by Cyrus' promise to persuade N8 to create a bespoke NFT art piece for Molsen after Magnus cracks Jorgenson's safe and incapacitates his henchmen.

However, the crew's meticulous planning is thrown off-kilter when Jorgenson executes a mole within his organization, Arthur Tigue (Jess Liaudin), and accelerates the delivery date. Undeterred, Cyrus' team remains poised to execute their plan on schedule.

On the day of the heist, the crew takes position on the A-380 as the gold is transferred, but just as they're about to strike, Luke suddenly backs out of the operation at the eleventh hour. The consequences of this unexpected twist will be far-reaching, sending shockwaves through their carefully crafted plan.

As the Molsen jet, expertly piloted by Camila (no actor name provided), swoops in beneath the A-380's belly, a daring operation unfolds. Cyrus' team springs into action, with Camila seamlessly mimicking the massive plane's signal on her transponder while Abby activates the signal jammer to disrupt any potential threats. Meanwhile, Harry (David Proud) at air traffic control expertly diverts the A-380 to Cortina, citing severe weather conditions in Zurich as a convincing reason for the change of course.

Jorgenson's ruthless henchmen, led by Cormac (Burn Gorman) and Donal (Paul Anderson), attempt a brazen hijacking, resulting in a harrowing crash landing at Cortina. Camila brings the Molsen jet to a safe landing at the airport, but it's short-lived as Magnus escapes on the ground while the remaining three - Cyrus, Abby, and Camila - are taken aboard the plane along with the coveted gold, bound for Jorgenson's estate in Tuscany.

As desperation sets in to prevent the gold from falling into Jorgenson's grasp, Huxley orders a NATO strike team to take down the Molsen jet. Harry at air traffic control works in tandem with Camila to convey a crucial message to the NATO pilots: there are innocent lives on board the A-380, forcing them to stand down and spare the plane.

A thrilling battle ensues as Cyrus' crew takes on Jorgenson's henchmen, culminating in the Molsen jet crash landing on the grounds of Jorgenson's villa. The Carabinieri arrive just in time to witness Abby, Cyrus, and Camila being taken hostage at gunpoint by Jorgenson, who coldly executes Leviathan's representative after they decide to cancel their deal. However, Cyrus cleverly uses N8's NFT technology to reveal a recording of Jorgenson committing the murder, leading to his swift arrest.

In the aftermath, Abby delivers a fierce punch to Huxley upon learning he authorized the NATO jets and subsequently resigns from Interpol, opting instead to join forces with Cyrus. Weeks later, Cyrus shares a stunning revelation with Abby: during the daring heist on the airliner, they substituted the actual gold shipment with iron bars painted to resemble gold, parachuting the real treasure into the Swiss Alps as the A-380 approached the Cortina landing strip.

Meanwhile, Luke remained hidden the entire time, expertly guiding the parachute to a recoverable location in the mountains via remote control. The crew's clever plan comes full circle as they recover their stolen gold haul and celebrate their monumental success, with Cyrus and Abby's blossoming romance serving as the perfect cherry on top.
