When the Prime Minister of Portorico worries that his fearful king, Fernando XXIII, will be targeted by anarchists, he asks Sherlock Holmes to find a double. Holmes spots a photograph in a Czech paper of František Lelíček, a charismatic bon vivant deep in debt. After Holmes offers payment, Lelíček travels to Portorico to impersonate the monarch.
