Adrian is an ordinary boy who lacks skills and talents. He likes his friend Lara and is often bullied by his classmates, but his pure heart gives him the courage to stand up to illegal loggers who threaten an enchanted rubber tree. After a brutal beating, he is left near death. Yet the miraculous tree heals him and grants him powers that transform him into Lastikman, a hero who can stretch his body across vast distances and morph into different objects.
With these abilities, he, his family, and Lara move to Manila, while his alcoholic father, Pablo, quits drinking after seeing Adrian stretch himself, thinking his son is hallucinating from his addiction.
