Spoilers ahead
Four women descend into Hong Kong’s neon-lit nightscape of Lan Kwai Fong, where every corner promises excitement and the shimmer of possible romance. Jeana Jeana Ho Pui-Yu is now a model who lives in an open, non-committed arrangement with Jacky Jason Chan Pak-Yu, and together they drift through the same high-energy circuit they knew before. The city’s pulse pulls Sara Ava Yu Kiu back into the clubs as well, a bid to feel desired after a season of feeling overlooked by her fiancé Shin. Jeana’s circle also includes Papa Celia Kwok Wing-Yee, a woman often labeled an “ugly duckling” by the crowd who works as an infants’ school teacher by day and shoulders the club’s late-night tempo by night, hunting for tenderness in a world that values appearance.
