Moritz Bleibtreu and Lucas Gregorowicz star as Kai and Stefan, two friends who run a gourmet pizza delivery business that doubles as a front for selling cannabis. Kai handles the day-to-day hustle, while Stefan is finishing law school and preparing to take the Bar exam under the watchful eye of his father, a judge. Their outdoor cannabis plantation is central to their livelihood, but trouble arrives when aphids begin to devastate the crop. They rush to a head shop seeking a remedy and cross paths with Achim, a persistent figure who claims he has a solution to the pest problem and offers them a tub of Aphidoletes aphidimyza to wage war on the aphids.

Achim, Julian Weigend, explains how the beneficial tiny insects can do the job, but there’s a hidden twist: Achim is an undercover police officer who has been observing the operation from the start. After much debate, Kai and Stefan decide to bring Achim along to the plantation to help address the aphid crisis, and they discuss using an adulterant on the plants known as Brain cell massacre, which Achim says is used in Kazakhstan plantations to mask damage. On the way to the growing area, they also consider picking psychedelic mushrooms, hoping to pass them off as a harmless addition to a pizza. They test the mushrooms on Achim while he’s at the plantation, claiming they’ve already tried some themselves, a claim he slowly begins to doubt.

The situation takes a dangerous turn when Achim is poisoned by the mushrooms and falls into a convulsive state. A hunter appears nearby, drawn by the activity around the cannabis operation. In a desperate bid to subdue Achim, the group uses the Brain cell massacre to knock him out and ends up locking him in the trunk, along with the hunter and the harvested crop. They narrowly evade an unrelated police search, leaving them anxious and on edge.

Cornered, the two friends decide to confess to Stefan’s father, and they face the consequences under his stern watch. The elder Becker, played by Elmar Wepper as Vater Becker, remains furious but reaches out to the chief of police he knows from his past as a public prosecutor. With the chief’s help, the trio manages to defuse the situation, allowing Stefan to complete his Bar exam. In a final twist of ambition, Stefan walks away from the legal path to chase a lifelong dream of owning a cafe on a beach, choosing a different horizon for his future.
