Udo, Kurt Krömer lives with a quiet, painful condition called difficult visibility: people pass him by, overlook him, and only address him when he speaks directly. Because of this, he makes his home inside a department store, living in a tent in the trekking department while working as a shop detective among the racks and sales floors. The only person who truly notices him is Amanda, Bernd Moss, a perfume seller who becomes his anchor in a world that often seems indifferent.

Everything changes when Jasmin speaks to him in the department store; she can see him, and Udo is overjoyed. A quiet, growing bond forms between them, and Jasmin is repeatedly surprised by the strange, sometimes magical things that seem to happen to his companion. The couple’s fragile happiness is tested by a series of odd and clumsy misfortunes: doors slam in front of him, Frisbee slices hit his head, and he is even brushed by a car. In the midst of these moments, Udo must summon the courage to tell Jasmine that only she can truly see him.

After their first night together, Udo experiences a surreal moment of feeling invisible as he climbs naked from his tent, walks past customers, and imagines himself unseen. Yet the illusion does not hold—he is not really invisible, at least not in the eyes of the world around him. This revelation unsettles Jasmine, and she grows uneasy with what she perceives as his abnormal nature. He tries to change to suit her, but that effort only fuels their dispute. Jasmine begins to wish for his invisibility to return, and for a time, it does seem to vanish from her view as well.

A new horizon opens when Jasmine is offered a job in Munich, which she accepts. She plans to travel there with her boss aboard a private plane, a prospect that tests the couple’s bond even further. At the last moment, Udo manages to halt the plane at the airport, and in a final, heartfelt moment the two share a kiss. The story closes on a note of hope, with the idea that love and connection can transcend the barriers of visibility, even if the path to that future remains fragile and uncertain.
