A newly engaged couple, Stella and her fiancée Rimson, vanish while trekking through a virgin forest, triggering a search by four SAR Komodo Team members—Darwin, Asti, Herman, and Petra. They extend the mission by bringing along Samantha, whom they persuade to join, and together they push toward the forest’s edge, where the path abruptly ends and a gate of uncertainty forces them to continue along a steep, winding road that climbs into the dense woods.

As night settles, the team camps and presses Samantha to explain why she wandered into the forest in the first place. She resists, urging them to abandon the mission, but the air grows thick with eerie sounds and inexplicable phenomena that tug them deeper into the unknown. During this unsettling trek, Samantha discovers Stella’s red shawl, a clue that knots together past encounters and present danger. Her memories drift to Mega N. Widjoko, Stella’s mother, who appears in Samantha’s recollections with a coded warning to travel to Ujung Sedo, a fringe of the forest, to lift a wangsit tied to the Kuntilanak.

dawn brings a creeping mist that swallows light and disturbs their equipment, yet the group presses on. They follow Yenny, the landlord’s daughter, who becomes a conduit to the Kuntilanak’s influence and who was previously taken in a linked chapter of the saga. The search leads them to a cave opening; inside, fear amplifies and the team splits into two factions as they confront terrifying phenomena and disquieting visions. The journey culminates in a warning: Samantha must proceed to Mbah Putri’s house, the custodian of history and the origin of the Kuntilanak’s wangsit within the Mangkoedjiwo lineage.

Setting up camp near a clearing, Samantha voices the growing conviction that they have reached “Ujung Sedo,” a cryptic landmark that seems to bind the living and the dead. Sleep is broken by the Kuntilanak’s menacing presence, which drives Herman into quicksand as fear takes its toll. In the morning, the team discovers a ghost village—an eerie tableau that includes a cow carcass and a crying baby. Petra, against grave warnings, takes the infant. Night falls again, the baby vanishes, and the Kuntilanak attacks Petra, heightening the peril.

Asti, Darwin, and Samantha venture out to search for Petra, while Samantha encounters Yenny once more and follows her to a leaf-strewn field where blind children chase a white horse. The pursuit reveals the Kuntilanak’s chilling ritual: it harvests children’s souls to sustain itself, an act witnessed under the tremor of fear and awe. Yenny and Samantha flee as Darwin, having glimpsed the demon, is driven to lethal despair and ends his own life. On the road toward Mbah Putri’s dwelling, Asti reunites with Samantha in a moment of fragile solidarity, vowing to press on with the mission.

When they reach Mbah Putri, the elder stones of the past confront the present. Mbah Putri reveals the Kuntilanak’s origin: it is the vengeful offspring of a mother who died after bearing the devil’s child, a fate mirrored in the family’s long history. To gain immortality, Mbah Putri agrees to bear the child within her own womb and performs the Durmo, a chant that binds Mangkoedjiwo descendants to summon the Kuntilanak. The creature draws power from murdered souls, enabling its continued existence inside Mbah Putri’s womb. Samantha learns that she cannot banish the wangsit while the child lives, and Mega’s illusion—once a comforting memory of the past—was actually a ruse orchestrated by Mbah Putri to lure Samantha into Ujung Sedo as a new host.

With the Durmo spoken and the demon released, the devil’s child crawls into Samantha’s womb, sealing her fate in a cataclysmic choice. Samantha guides Yenny toward the rescue point, then ascends a waterfall and sacrifices herself, intending that the child die with her. Asti, Yenny, and the others race toward safety as a rescue helicopter descends to evacuate everyone else. Yet in the water’s hidden depths, a hand—likely Samantha’s—emerges from beneath the stones, leaving a haunting sense that danger still lingers in the forest’s shadow.
