Killer Tomatoes Eat France! 1992

Dr. Mortimer Gangreen [John Astin] escapes from prison and sets up a hidden base at his assistant Igor’s “Really Big Castle” just outside Paris, continuing his ruthless bid for global domination. With a fresh wave of Killer Tomatoes at his disposal, Gangreen plots a second French revolution, drawing on an ancient prophecy by Nicodemus that the king of France, Louis XVII, will return to claim the throne. The plan hinges on a startling clue: the only image of Louis XVII bears a striking resemblance to Igor, so Igor [Steve Lundquist] is groomed to impersonate the royal heir and seize the crown.

The story follows a has-been TV actor named Michael [Marc Price] and Marie, the French girl he falls for, as they stumble into this bizarre, tomato-fueled conspiracy. As the tomatoes surge across France, a giant, fire-breathing specimen even gobbles a tour guide [Eileen Bowman], heightening the danger and pushing the action toward the outskirts of Paris. Amid the chaos, the true King returns, and a tense showdown unfolds between Igor and the rightful monarch over who shall sit on France’s throne.

With Michael and Marie supporting the return of Louis XVII, the king prevails and Gangreen makes a dramatic escape in a tomato-shaped hot-air balloon, vowing revenge and promising to return in the next film.
