Murali is a pharmaceutical representative whose heart belongs to Gayathri. They share a quiet life in a room above a restaurant owned by Gayathri’s father, a Tamil man who runs a teashop named Swami.

Their simple world is disrupted when Jose and Preman come to stay with them in the same room, drawing the attention of Swami—the lodge’s owner—who runs the place with a mix of affection and stubborn control. The presence of the two friends provokes Swami, and he, with the help of his ally Appunni, tries a variety of schemes to force them out. They pull out all the usual levers—petty tricks and even police pressure—but nothing sticks, and the stubborn trio endures their attempts.

As a last-ditch plan, Swami, guided by [Appunni], brings in Ananthan Gurukkal, the famed Kalari master, to pose as a solution. This ruse sets off a new set of dynamics among the lodgers and the lodge, testing loyalties and patience in equal measure. Yet the real twist comes when Ananthan Gurukal’s twin brother arrives in disguise as Ananthan and quickly manages to win the trust and friendship of the men in the rented room.

The new guest, Appukuttan, for his part, becomes more than just a stand-in; he forms connections with everyone and, in a poignant turn, falls in love with Swami’s youngest daughter, Savithri. The budding romance broadens the interplay between the families, and Swami begins to sense that something clever and playful is at work beneath the surface of their arrangements.

Realizing that the ruse might not last, Swami summons up support from a relative and other rough elements to tip the balance. In a twist of fate, the genuine Kalari master Ananthan steps back in to resolve the escalating tension. He disposes of therowdy opposition with a decisive turn, restoring a measure of order to the tangled lodgings.

In the end, the story settles on a hopeful note: Appukuttan is placed in charge of the restaurant, and the union with Savithri seals the new arrangement. The group’s improvisational and affectionate humor gives way to a more stable future, as friendships endure and a new chapter begins under the same roof that once hummed with mischief.
