Sadagopan [Vinu Chakravarthy] is the steadfast patriarch of a bustling family who has four daughters and one son. He views his son as the obvious heir and asset, while he treats his daughters as a burden on his head, driven by a belief that their education should lead to a secure, dowry-free future. With the help of his Iyer priest friend Venniradai Moorthy, he embarks on a mission to find grooms for his three educated elder daughters who fit his strict dowry conditions. He insists on marriages that require no dowry and believes that the right match should be determined by status and utility, not affection or compatibility.
