The animated short chronicles the life of Seraphim “Joe” Fortes, a cherished figure in Vancouver. Born in the West Indies, he spent more than three decades swimming the waters of English Bay. Initially a self‑appointed lifeguard, his dedication made him a local legend, eventually prompting the city to pay him a salary for the work he loved.
