In 1998, Tiffany Tenille leads the story as Tiffany, returning to Las Vegas to be with her family at the home of her elder sister Numa Perrier. The family is kept afloat in a fragile, improvisational way: Sabrina, who supports the entire clan (her older boyfriend, her younger brother Stephen Barrington as Dominic, and her daughter Rockwelle Dortch as Juju) through phone sex work, exists in a small, unstable space rented on a daily basis. The atmosphere blends warmth with strain, as everyone reads the room differently and hopes the sickly matriarch’s condition won’t stretch the household past its breaking point.

When their mother dies, Sabrina’s boyfriend presses Tiffany for financial contribution, exposing the growing tension. Sabrina spots an advertisement for cam girls and pushes Tiffany to apply, lending her a wig and handing her a path toward independence. The wig becomes a tool and a symbol, and Tiffany quickly becomes a cam girl, adopting the stage name Jezebel as she steps in front of the camera. The process is coached by Vicky, a longtime coworker who has already built the company’s rhythms since its inception, and Tiffany learns to recreate convincing acts for the audience, all within a system Sabrina both orchestrates and supports.

As Tiffany’s work begins to bloom, she forms a tentative emotional bond with a regular customer named Bob. After the funeral, she reveals to Bob that her mother has died, and the relationship deepens—though Tiffany remains cautious, signaling boundaries by sharing her contact information little by little and receiving thoughtful gifts in return. This fragile trust complicates Sabrina’s urging that Tiffany move into her own apartment, but Tiffany’s earnings are strong enough to make a weekly rental feasible and to provide a sense of security she hadn’t imagined.

Yet success brings new challenges. Tiffany faces a cruel moment when a customer uses a racial slur, and her white coworkers fail to treat the incident with gravity. The tension escalates as management monitors Tiffany and notices she seems to be ignoring Bob, a dynamic tied to the customer’s fetish. As a result, Tiffany is fired after the company decides not to defend her against the abuse. Her status as a top earner makes her an attractive target for new opportunities, and two rival porn stars offer her a high-paying alternative that would also guarantee she won’t face abusive customers. Bob promises additional cash as part of this shift.

Despite the tempting new offer, Tiffany ultimately returns to her former employer to collect her last paycheck, only to discover Vicky and her brother in dire need of her services to come back. Sensing that she now holds leverage, Tiffany negotiates a favorable deal, securing better terms and control over her own career—an important step toward genuine independence. The atmosphere remains intimate and supportive, and the film closes with Sabrina preparing Tiffany for a direct, face-to-face meeting with Bob. Tiffany thanks Sabrina for her steadfast support, and in a quiet moment, Sabrina comforts her as Tiffany processes the journey toward self-reliance and autonomy.
