Spoilers ahead
Jesse Stone, Tom Selleck, still longs for the Paradise, Massachusetts police chief post he lost when the town’s council president backed his son-in-law for the job. An explosion destroys Chief William Butler, Jeff Geddis, and Officer Anthony D’Angelo, Vito Rezza, in their police cruiser, turning a quiet town into a maze of questions. Curiously, the former town council president, Hastings “Hasty” Hathaway, Saul Rubinek, seems to have anticipated the tragedy before the current council was officially notified. In the aftermath, Jesse is reinstated as temp chief by Carter Hanson, Jeremy Akerman, and he starts chasing a clue that could connect Butler’s death to a wider pattern of corruption.
