Set in a 1966 industrial town, a well‑run firm led by the energetic director Todor follows his ambitious “World breakthrough” program, promising rapid progress for the community. The plot centres on Milutin, Todor’s driver, whose sincere admiration, honesty and good intentions draw him into a web of manipulative, absurdly dramatic relationships that test his ability to adapt, yet he refuses to abandon his principles.
