What Is Im Niemandsland About?
The premise of Im Niemandsland without spoilers.
Set in the summer of 1990, this story follows Katja, a 16-year-old from West Berlin, and Thorben, a 17-year-old from East Germany, as they fall in love amidst a backdrop of political change. Their families are embroiled in a bitter dispute over a house in Kleinmachnow, a suburb of East Berlin. The conflict stems from a complex history involving emigration before the Berlin Wall’s construction and subsequent property disputes under GDR rule. As Germany rapidly moves toward reunification, Katja and Thorben must navigate the escalating tensions and fight for their relationship while confronting old wounds and prejudices.
