I Am Gentrification. Confessions of a Scoundrel (2017): Cast

Filmmaker Thomas Haemmerli explores themes of city development, architecture, and gentrification through a personal lens. His journey, from a childhood in Zurich’s villa district to years as a squatter and eventual homeownership in multiple cities, prompts questions about density, housing markets, and the pressures of urban living. The film humorously examines his own choices while also considering the anxieties of conservatives concerned about immigration and the challenges faced by the political left in adapting to modern architecture, ultimately raising questions about the future of urban spaces.
