The film opens with a tender picture of an affectionate couple sharing a quiet moment in the park, before shifting its gaze to Andie, a woman who feels the weight of a difference she cannot escape. The camera lingers on her inside ache as she confronts a truth that society often asks trans people to hide: the fear that dating could require a performance, a careful retreat from honesty. Andie speaks plainly about this danger, explaining that she has learned to navigate the dating world with a calculated restraint: a three-date rule designed to protect her and the people she decides to meet. She reveals her strategy with calm practicality, framing it as a game of survival in a world that can be unpredictable and unforgiving.
