His career takes an unexpected turn when a conspiratorial arrangement by his colleagues leads to his reassignment as a Sergeant to the sleepy, rural village of Sandford, Gloucestershire, a place proudly decorated as “Village of the Year.” This change doesn’t sit well with his ex-girlfriend Janine, who comments on his overwhelming dedication to the job, suggesting he could benefit from caring more about people.
