The story
What Is Groundhog Day About?

TV weatherman Phil Connors finds himself unexpectedly trapped in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania, forced to relive the annual Groundhog Day celebration over and over again. On February 1, television weatherman Phil Connors reassures viewers in Pittsburgh that a looming blizzard will miss Western Pennsylvania. Accompanied by his new producer, Rita Hanson, and cameraman Larry, Phil makes his way to Punxsutawney for his annual coverage of the Groundhog Day festivities. His disdain for the small town and its residents is palpable as he expresses his eagerness to leave for a new job.
