An unstoppable monster holds a kingdom hostage. King Higlack of the Gauths gives prince Finn a fire‑ball weapon and his champion, the slayer Beowulf, to confront the beast. They lead twelve warriors on a quest to aid King Hrothgar of the Danes, whose once‑glorious realm is terrorized by the undefeated Grendel, while Hrothgar guards dark, gruesome secrets.
