Goof on the Roof 1953

The Stooges, Larry, Moe, and Shemp, discover that their roommate Bill has just married, which means they need to relocate to make room for his new wife, Rosebud. As a grateful gesture, they take on the task of installing Bill’s newly acquired television antenna, hoping to enhance their host’s new domestic life and show their appreciation in a practical, hands-on way.

What follows is a long, winding thread of well-meaning but disastrously executed efforts that showcases the trio’s characteristic brand of chaos. Their attempt at a simple home improvement project quickly devolves into a series of misadventures that keep everyone on their toes and the audience laughing. One running gag centers on Shemp, who repeatedly plunges headfirst into a bucket of water, leaving the others bewildered and the situation messier than before. The kitchen area becomes another stage for slapstick chaos as the swinging door proves to be a perpetual hazard, causing injuries and causing constant confusion among the roommates.

The arrival of the television set does little to steady the situation.
