Spoilers ahead
Two years after his battle with Biollante, Godzilla Kenpachirō Satsuma remains weakened from the lingering effects of the Anti-Nuclear Energy Bacteria, a condition that colors every decision in the shadow of his presence. On Lagos Island during the waning days of World War II, a young science fiction writer, Kenichiro Terasawa Kosuke Toyohara uncovers a startling historical thread: a detachment of Japanese soldiers once faced an American threat on the island, and they were aided by a mysterious creature, a dinosaur named Godzillasaurus. The veteran commander, Yasuaki Shindo Yoshio Tsuchiya, confirms the creature’s existence, and Terasawa begins to suspect a toxic link between nuclear activity on the island and the evolution of the modern Godzilla. The island’s strange echoes soon intersect with a larger, more unsettling force.
