On a routine flight from Chennai to Delhi, five passengers seize control after covertly retrieving weapons from the toilet, turning the cabin into a tense standoff. As they push the pilots to divert toward Rawalpindi, a damaged engine forces an emergency landing at Tirupati Airport, where government authorities rush to respond. The hijackers present a stark demand: one billion rupees, the immediate release of their imprisoned leader Yusuf Khan, and a fresh aircraft to complete their escape.

A crisis team is assembled, led by Home Secretary Prakash Raj as Vishwanath, with the aim of managing the situation without compromising the passengers’ safety. At the heart of the unfolding drama is Major Ravindra, a National Security Guard commander nicknamed Ravi, who previously captured Yusuf Khan and carries the weight of a fatal shootout he regrets. He urges the government to authorize a high-stakes special forces intervention, but officials fear risking the lives of those aboard the grounded plane and hesitate to place their trust in his team. The tension thickens as the possibility looms that Khan could be released, a prospect Ravi finds unacceptable given what happened before.

Inside the aircraft, the passengers drift into conversations about their lives and beliefs, creating a human tapestry against the backdrop of fear. One hijacker grows unexpectedly fond of Afshana, a young patient returning to Karachi after heart surgery, while his partners warn him to keep his focus on the mission and avoid attachments that could jeopardize their plan. Another passenger, retired army colonel Col. Jagadeesh, played by [Thalaivasal Vijay], repeatedly challenges the hijackers’ motives with pointed questions. The mood grows increasingly volatile, and Praveen, a passenger struggling with drug addiction, makes a failed attempt to escape before he is shot by a terrorist, a moment that intensifies the clock and raises the stakes for any rescue attempt.

Outside the plane, Nawaz Khan and Ravi piece together a clue: Tamil Nadu Police have identified a missing cleaner who prepared the aircraft’s toilet before departure. The two officers pursue this lead across the city to piece together the puzzle of how the hijackers obtained their weapons. They corner the cleaner in Red Hills, and he confesses his role in the plot while offering only murky details about the weapon’s scale. Based on his testimony, Ravi and Nawaz conclude the device is a plastic explosive—and the clock starts ticking.

Back on the plane, word arrives that Khan’s death in transit to an airport is being reported to the public. Ravi asks the authorities to hold their nerve and act with precision, so their assault can come as a surprise to the hijackers. A reporter in disguise overhears officials discussing Khan’s alleged death, and the news ignites fear among the terrorists. In response, one passenger is killed, and the others are forced to confront the possibility that Khan might still be alive. To bolster their plan, Ravi enlists the help of Ranganathan—a performer who had previously played Khan in a film—to convince the hijackers that Khan is alive and receiving hospital treatment.

The rescue plan—named Operation Garuda—takes shape, with Ravi coordinating a covert exchange via a mobile phone hidden in a food packet carried aboard by a female cleaner. He communicates with Col. Jagadeesh through a discreet contact, sparking a synchronized strike as the passengers are instructed to bend down at a timed signal. The assault unfolds with precise timing, and four of the five hijackers are eliminated. The final terrorist is overcome with the support of two passengers, and the team locates the plastic explosive in Afshana’s bag, which Ravi discards before it explodes.

With the crisis resolved, the Prime Minister praises Ravi and the passengers for their courage, and the survivors resume their journey to their destination. The truth behind the hijackers’ identities is gradually revealed: the group is led by Yasin, with accomplices Munna, Omar, Anwar, and Abdul. The harrowing events test the limits of trust, courage, and restraint as the flight continues toward safety and the passengers—forever altered by the ordeal—part ways, their lives forever linked by the ordeal they endured together.
