Dev (Mohit Marwah), Devi (Kiara Advani), Gaurav (Vijender Singh), and Aditya (Arfi Lamba) share a close bond, while Gaurav, the son of Haryana’s Chief Minister, grapples with the weight of his family’s political legacy. Despite being the only educated member of his family, he feels a disconnect from the political world surrounding him. With a heart full of good intentions but often fueled by adrenaline due to his father’s influence, Gaurav tends to land himself in trouble, yet the local police usually overlook his antics.
When a local grocer, Nunu, harasses Devi in his store, the friends unite to confront him. Under the cover of night, they break into his shop and deliver a warning, but Nunu defiantly challenges them to leave Devi behind. Enraged, the group decides to teach him a lesson and stashes him in their car’s trunk, taking him to a desolate location. Their plans are thwarted when they encounter Inspector R.S. Chautala (Jimmy Shergill), who grows suspicious during a routine patrol and discovers Nunu hidden in the trunk. In a shocking twist, Chautala kills Nunu, intending to frame the friends for murder.
The following morning, Chautala extorts a ransom of Rs. 61 Lakhs within 24 hours, which intensifies Gaurav’s anxiety, worrying about the disastrous impact on his father’s political career. While they manage to gather Rs. 24 Lakhs, their troubles compound when Chautala films them delivering the cash, which he uses to blackmail them further, demanding more money and turning them into unwilling accomplices in drug dealing.
Frustrated and desperate, the friends plot to expose Chautala through a sting operation. Their plan nearly succeeds when they capture a confession on camera, but they are caught, and Devi is kidnapped. As the stakes heighten, Chautala coerces Gaurav and Dev into committing a political assassination for her release. Desperate to find her, Aditya uncovers that Chautala is hosting a party at a farmhouse for Gaurav’s father’s MLAs. They manage to rescue Devi just in time, yet Chautala retaliates by injuring Gaurav, leading to their wrongful arrest.
As time passes, Gaurav’s family, under Chautala’s manipulation, turns against him, plunging the young friends further into despair. After five years of battling for justice, Dev decides to make the ultimate sacrifice to bring the truth to light. He self-immolates at India Gate and ends up in the hospital, where he begins sharing his harrowing story with a reporter. In an unexpected turn, Chautala arrives, seeking to silence him. Dev cunningly disrupts his life support in the ensuing chaos, instigating a scuffle that results in his death. The shocking event, broadcasted live, shifts public sentiment dramatically against Chautala, leading to his eventual arrest.
One year later, a sinister Chautala seeks to blackmail Gaurav’s father once more but meets a fatal end at the hands of his own colleague, highlighting the relentless cycle of corruption and betrayal that defined their lives.
