What Is Freibad About?
The premise of Freibad without spoilers.
During a sweltering summer in Germany, tensions rise at the nation's only open-air women's swimming pool. Bathers adhere to various customs, from topless sunbathing to wearing bikinis, swimsuits, or burkinis, leading to frequent conflicts that the overwhelmed lifeguard struggles to manage. The arrival of a group of women wearing full veils ignites a series of confrontations, challenging established norms and raising questions about ownership, identity, and the female body. The lifeguard, exasperated by the escalating chaos, ultimately resigns, only to be replaced by a man, further complicating the already volatile situation.
