Lilleper is about to start school, and on the last day of summer vacation his dad gathers the family for a party at Tivoli. The celebrations unravel: Per hates school, Søs quarrels with Peter, Mie is falsely accused of theft, and their father loses his job and considers selling the house. As a bleak Christmas looms, Lilleper still hopes to attend the Christmas Ball in Nisseland.
