Ramanunni, Mukesh, is a jobless young man who makes ends meet by playing kabaddi and by installing small roadside advertisements. His father, Veeran Nair, Krishnankutty Nair, has spent years working as a driver for Arathi Menon, Madhoo, in Bobby’s family. After his father’s injury leaves him unable to drive, Ramanunni begins visiting their home as their driver, a change that pulls him closer to the household he once served.

Bobby soon realizes Ramanunni’s crush on her, and she and her grandmother decide to play a playful ruse, pretending to be in love with him—much like she once did with a college classmate. This light deception sets off a chain of misunderstandings that deepen the film’s comic and romantic stakes. The mood shifts dramatically when, during a drive, Renjith Lal attacks Bobby. Ramanunni defends her and drives the aggressors away, and Bobby, moved by his courage, begins to see him in a new light, even as she insists that he is her fiancé.

As events unfold, Bobby’s real fiancé Janachandran enters the picture and, as the current city commissioner, his arrival forces a rapid, arranged marriage. The moment shocks Ramanunni: he asks Bobby to elope, but she confesses that she was only fooling him, leaving him heartbroken. In a spiral of pride and pain, Ramanunni leaves his job. In desperation, he confronts Janachandran and falsely claims that he and Bobby had a physical relationship. Janachandran, stunned and hurt, breaks off the marriage, which sends shockwaves through Bobby and her family.

The fallout turns harsh: Ramanunni is beaten, but he stands by his truth, explaining that the hurt came from being lied to and betrayed. Bobby’s family then contemplates sending her abroad to avoid further scandal. In a quieter, more intimate moment, Bobby asks Arathi’s Grandmother if she ever truly loved that poet; she isn’t sure, suggesting the complexity of their feelings.
