What Is Egg About?
The premise of Egg without spoilers.
The Egg is a charming 58‑minute Dutch seriocomedy. Johan Leysen stars as a shy, illiterate baker longing to learn to read, while Marijke Veugelers plays an equally timid schoolteacher determined to teach him. As they teach each other, a gentle romance develops, offering a sweeter, more aesthetically pleasing tone than the similarly plotted Stanley and Iris. The film is presented in Dutch with English subtitles, preserving its delicate charm.
