Teru Aoki [Satoshi Tsumabuki] witnesses a strange sight just before his train derails in a tunnel during a powerful earthquake. He wakes to a grim scene where everyone else is dead, save for his bullied classmate Nobuo Takahashi [Takayuki Yamada] and the injured Ako Seto [Sayaka Kanda]. Teru does his best to help Ako recover as Nobuo’s growing paranoia starts to gnaw at him. When Nobuo’s fear boils over into violence, Teru fights him off and makes a desperate escape with Ako through narrow ventilation shafts as a river of lava begins to fill the tunnel.
