What Is Dirty Dingus Magee About?
The premise of Dirty Dingus Magee without spoilers.
Sinatra portrays Dingus Magee, a hunter who robs his friend Hoke Birdsill. Hoke flees to Yerkey’s Hole, where mayor‑bordello Belle Knops makes him sheriff and urges him to stir the Indians so soldiers—her patrons—won’t go to Little Big Horn. Dingus adds trouble and courts shy Indian Anna. The film spoofs the “Code of the West,” turning its clichés into comedy.
