Spoilers ahead

Sir John Rowan is a renowned plastic surgeon whose life revolves around a glamorous, much younger fiancée, Lynn Nolan, a fashion model. At a wild, late-1960s party, Rowan—older than most guests and uneasy with the era’s countercultural excess—gets into a confrontation with a sleazy photographer. In the melee, a hot lamp topples onto Lynn, leaving her face terribly scarred. Gripped by guilt and devotion, Rowan vows to reverse the damage and embarks on a dangerous quest that blends medical bravado with a chilling willingness to tamper with life.
