Cocaine Shark Echo Score Breakdown

Cocaine Shark delivers a largely unsatisfying experience, hindered by weak storytelling, low‑budget production values, and uneven performances. The plot meanders through a crime‑driven premise, offering little suspense or originality, while the visuals rely on cheap CGI and cheesy graphics despite occasional stop‑motion creativity. Acting is predominantly amateurish, though a few familiar faces provide modest interest. The brief runtime and self‑aware humor give it limited appeal for niche fans, but it lacks lasting rewatch value.

Our own 0–100 rating, built from five aspects: art, character, story, the sensory experience and how well a film rewatches.

  • Art & Craft 35

The film’s art and craft suffer from thin production design and inconsistent visual quality. Direction offers little stylistic cohesion, and cinematography is marred by cheap CGI and cheesy graphics. While the stop‑motion creature work shows a glimpse of creativity, overall editing feels rushed and the visual palette remains uninspired. Consequently, the artistic execution feels substandard for a feature film.

  • Character & Emotion 25

Acting in Cocaine Shark is largely amateurish, with performances that lack depth and emotional resonance. The cast delivers stilted dialogue and limited chemistry, reducing audience immersion. Some reviewers note occasional familiarity with recurring low‑budget actors, providing a modest point of interest, yet the overall character work remains superficial and detracts from narrative credibility.

  • Story & Flow 30

The narrative is simplistic and poorly paced, focusing more on a drug‑ring subplot than the promised shark premise. Plot twists feel bait‑and‑switch, offering little suspense or originality, and the pacing stalls during extended crime‑drama sequences. Although the mutation concept adds a hint of inventiveness, the storyline overall feels bland and unengaging.

  • Sensory Experience 35

Auditory and visual elements provide a mixed experience. The soundtrack is serviceable but unremarkable, and sound design is uneven, occasionally drawing attention to its low budget. Visual style suffers from cheap CGI, yet the stop‑motion creature segments offer modest visual interest. Overall, sensory components are functional but fail to elevate the film.

  • Rewatch Factor 45

Rewatch value is limited but not nonexistent. The short runtime and self‑aware humor make it mildly entertaining for viewers who enjoy campy, low‑budget B movies. Some find occasional enjoyment in spotting familiar actors and appreciating the DIY spirit. However, the film’s lack of depth and repetitive flaws reduce its appeal for repeated viewings.
