What Is Cinderella or The Glass Slipper About?
The premise of Cinderella or The Glass Slipper without spoilers.
Georges Méliès first tackled Cinderella in 1899, a pioneering film noted for its multiple scenes, nascent narrative structure, and innovative use of dissolves as transitions—a technique that influenced later directors. By 1912, Méliès’s style seemed dated; in this feature he switches to direct cuts and even matches action during the slipper‑trying‑on scene.
