Chintakayala Ravi (Venkatesh) works as the head waiter at a bustling New York bar called Cyber Wave, where he and his three friends pour drinks, swap stories, and navigate the long hours that come with keeping the place running. He harbors a soft, almost wistful dream of becoming a software engineer in America, a goal that life’s twists have kept out of reach, leaving him stuck in the service routine he knows so well.

Back home in Andhra Pradesh, his mother Seshamamba tells everyone that Ravi is already an accomplished software engineer in America. To spare his mother’s feelings, Ravi keeps up the sweet lie, presenting himself to friends and family as the tech pro she believes in, even as the truth nibbles away at him.

Trouble begins to mount when Seshamamba arranges Ravi to marry Lavanya, a local girl who believes Ravi really is a software engineer. The engagement triggers a wave of shame and humiliation in the village when Ravi is forced to confront the gap between his mother’s faith and his real life, especially as he travels to the village to meet Lavanya’s family.

The situation worsens when Lavanya asks her childhood buddy Sunita to verify Ravi’s background; Sunita, Anushka Shetty, discovers the mismatch between Ravi’s outward image and his actual job. The initial disappointment gives way to an appreciation of Ravi’s true character after he saves Sunita’s father, deepening their connection and changing the way she sees him.

Earlier in America, Ravi had saved Srikanth’s life, a debt that Srikanth acknowledges when he shows up in India. Srikanth, Venu Thottempudi, travels to Lavanya’s home to speak for Ravi and to explain what a good person Ravi is. As Srikanth teams up with Lavanya’s parents to argue Ravi’s case, Ravi and Sunita’s bond grows stronger, adding a new layer to the upcoming decisions about Ravi’s future.
