What Is Child of the Big City About?
The premise of Child of the Big City without spoilers.
Seamstress Mary longs to escape the sweatshop, and her hopes seem realized when the wealthy Victor takes notice. Bored with Victor, she drains his fortune, and when he proposes a modest life beyond the city, she abandons him for a new lover. A year later Victor lives in a cold, shabby hut, still yearning for Mary.
