On a flight, Dhananjay “Danny” Jhumbevalkar—often called DJ—strikes up a budding friendship with Rhea (Preeti). Their chance encounter on an airplane soon gives way to a shared interest in a story that feels almost real, and DJ decides to narrate a tale about a legendary diamond. This story is presented as something from his own past, a thread that ties the present moment to a long, winding history.

The legend begins in 1836, in the hands of a South Indian miner who discovers a remarkable diamond. The miner shows the gem to his king, and the king, in turn, passes it along to a British viceroy. The journey of the diamond is far from simple: as the viceroy sails toward Britain, his ship sinks, setting the piece of history adrift in a fated moment that will echo for generations to come.

About a century later, a fisherman finds the same diamond and brings it to his master. That master decides to cut the gem into three pieces and distributes them among his three sons, each piece carrying a part of the diamond’s fate. The narrative follows the misfortunes that befall the brothers: one loses his piece through gambling, another loses his gem to a general, and the last is murdered, leaving the diamond’s fate unsettled and unresolved.

Fast forward to 1994, when two of the three pieces resurfaced and were placed in a Belgium museum for safekeeping. Yet the location of the third piece remained a mystery, shrouded in intrigue. The mystery begins to surface again when a Gujarati diamond dealer makes a call to a security manager from South Africa named Shanaya. The thread of the tale grows tangled, but the dealer himself becomes entangled in danger when goons steal the diamond from him in a preplanned car accident, leaving the third piece even more elusive.

Meanwhile, a shadowy Uncle—a diamond thief—deploys his goon Angad to pull off a daring plan: to steal two of the diamonds from the Belgian museum. The unfolding events connect back to the older story, as the pieces of the diamond are sought, moved, and guarded by a web of characters whose actions ripple across continents.

The film uses this frame—the plane-borne conversation between DJ and Rhea—to weave together past and present, turning a single gem into a catalyst for mystery, betrayal, and pursuit. As DJ’s tale mirrors his own past, the audience is drawn into a world where history, greed, and danger collide, and where every turn of the diamond’s journey holds the potential to reshape the lives of those who touch it.
