Opening Title Graphic: As the film begins, a message appears reminding the audience that approximately 30,000 people died during the Dirty War under the military dictatorship’s reign in the late 1970s and early 1980s.
Daniela, Vera Fogwill, a film graduate who is finding it hard to land work, is hired by an older couple living in seclusion to document Buenos Aires so they can see the city again through her lens. She ventures out to capture the life of the metropolis, hoping to recreate the familiar scene for her clients. Yet the couple grows frustrated because the footage does not reflect the Buenos Aires they remember from the past. In response, Daniela pivots and creates a more tourist-style reel, hoping this revised view will please her elusive employers and bridge the gap between memory and reality.
Meanwhile, the other surviving child, Damián, Nicolás Pauls, works in a run-down motel and gradually uncovers the truth about what his parents endured during the dictatorship. His investigation into the past brings him face to face with the hidden stories that shaped his family and his own sense of identity, peeling back layers of memory, silence, and consequence.
The film unfolds in an episodic tapestry, weaving together more than six distinct storylines. Each thread offers a quiet, intimate glimpse into the ways a society grapples with its troubled history and how personal histories intersect with the city itself. Through these interconnected vignettes, the narrative explores memory, loss, resilience, and the fragile effort to reclaim a sense of place after years of upheaval. The result is a nuanced mosaic that stays true to its themes while presenting them in a fresh, reflective light.
