What Is Buddies About?
The premise of Buddies without spoilers.
The first dramatic film to tackle AIDS follows David, a naive graduate student who volunteers as a “buddy” for people dying of the disease. He is assigned to Robert, a fiercely political lifelong activist whose friends and family have shunned him after his diagnosis. Despite contrasting worldviews, the two men form a deep bond; David’s activist side awakens while Robert finally finds emotional release.
