As the plan takes shape, Farful tracks JD to Bethesda using a GPS-enabled phone given to him to stay in touch with the brothers, while Cath offers hard-won wisdom about loyalty, risk, and what they’re willing to sacrifice for fortune. The trio—mother and two sons—procure an excavator and head toward the burial site to retrieve Glen’s body and the emeralds, but they’re spotted by golfers and barely escape. They move the body to a different location, and Moke uncovers a troubling detail: JD had impersonated the “Labor and Employment Bureau” to get him fired from his job, a deceit that strains trust to the breaking point.

A heated confrontation erupts, but Farful arrives with a gun, reasserting his demand for the emeralds and sealing their fates in a dangerous standoff. The mother seizes the emeralds and flees, triggering a frantic chase that ends with a tense confrontation in an abandoned mall. Farful appears again with a gun and manages to secure the bag of cash, but JD’s planted pepper spray erupts into his eyes, plunging the scene into chaos. As gunshots echo, the mall is surrounded by police, and Cath tries to protect her new plan by handing off the danger to others. In a devastating moment, a Christmas tree crashes down, and Farful dies in the midst of the mayhem.

With legal consequences closing in, Cath surrenders and leaves the brothers to navigate the fallout. Moke meets with Judge Farful, M.
