In 1897 Crete, after Greek rebels win freedom in the mountains, an allied fleet anchors at Chania to protect Greek and Turkish residents. Rosa Bonaparte arrives with twelve women, setting up a brothel on a deserted beach. Their base, a wing of ruined Town Hall, hosts fleet officers, spies and profiteers, creating an East‑West mix of language and intrigue.
