In the gritty streets of South London, gang violence has claimed many young lives, leaving numerous mothers to mourn their children. The story centers around Timmy, played by Stephen Odubola, and Marco (played by Micheal Ward), who have been best friends since childhood. Timmy lives in Deptford, while Marco is from Peckham, and their bond is tested as violence and loyalty clash within their communities.

The film kicks off with the boys hanging out after school, alongside their friends Dwayne (Rohan Nedd) and Hakeem (Kadeem Ramsay). One day, they accept an invitation to a party from a girl named Karina. During the outing, Timmy’s crush, Leah (Karla-Simone Spence), and her friend Shayanne (Hannah Lee) show up, sparking tension but also a blossoming connection between Timmy and Leah. During the party, Timmy awkwardly attempts to flirt with Leah, only to be mocked by others, highlighting his vulnerability.

In the background, tensions between rival gangs simmer. A group led by Madder (Junior Afolabi Salokun) from Deptford encounters their rivals from Peckham. When some of Madder’s crew flee, he and his close friend Galis (Andre Dwayne) retaliate by attacking the rival gang, but violence erupts as gunfire is exchanged. Madder’s response to the chaos fuels ongoing revenge plans.

School life reflects the dangerous environment. The friends frequently cross paths with Leah and Shayanne, with confrontation looming. When Timmy approaches Leah at the mall, he’s harassed by Peckham boys Skitzer (Sean Sagar) and Big T (Tuwaine Barrett), who are also targeting the girls. Marco, aware of the danger because of his older brother Switcher (Eric Kofi Abrefa), intervenes to protect Timmy. Later, they visit a shop and run into Killy (Khali Best), an old acquaintance now involved in gang life. Killy’s presence marks the increasing influence of violence in their lives.

As the story unfolds, gang conflicts escalate. A violent fight results in Galis being shot in the back by Switcher during a turf war, leaving Madder helpless as the police arrive. Rumors ripple through their community—blaming Madder for the death of Galis—adding fuel to the cycle of retribution. The group eventually attends Karina’s party again, but chaos erupts, prompting them to leave. Marco and Switcher are later arrested, but they are bailed out.

Developments deepen the emotional trauma. Marco begins a relationship with Leah, consummating their feelings, but the peace is fleeting. Marco later disappoints a girl he meets on Instagram, revealing vulnerabilities and insecurities. Meanwhile, Killy and his gang brutally assault Marco, breaking his arm. Their confrontation highlights how violence continues to spiral out of control.

Tensions reach a breaking point at school, where fighting erupts again. Marco, angry and resentful, insults Leah and calls her a disrespectful name, leading to an intense altercation that results in Marco slapping Leah and Timmy punching Marco. The fallout destroys their friendship. Meanwhile, Timmy and Leah grow closer, but during one outing, Killy’s gang attacks Timmy. When Leah tries to defend him, Marco’s reckless shove causes her to hit her head on the pavement, tragically killing her. Marco, overwhelmed with guilt, is arrested, and Timmy falls into a coma.

Years pass, and Marco is released from prison. Meanwhile, Timmy has joined Madder and Killy in the gang, vowing revenge for Leah’s death. The narrative explores how the cycle of violence continues, with Timmy relentlessly hunting for Marco. Their paths cross again, resulting in a brutal street confrontation. Timmy wounds Switcher, who is paralyzed from the waist down after the attack, deepening Marco’s feelings of failure and remorse.

Violence intensifies, with both gangs seeking vengeance on each other. Key figures like Tyrone (Richie Campbell) arrive, attempting to broker peace, but tensions remain high. Madder, feeling betrayed, confronts Killy, who reveals feelings of jealousy over Timmy’s prominence in the gang. Deadly betrayals ensue, leading to a fiery climax where Marco torches a van carrying Timmy, leaving them both trapped in smoke and flames. Timmy succumbs to the smoke, dying in the blaze, a poignant symbol of lost innocence and friendship. Madder later turns informant, leading to arrests and tragic consequences, including Switcher’s suicide from overwhelming guilt.

In the aftermath, Madder becomes a motivational speaker, striving to prevent others from following the same destructive path. The film concludes with a stark reflection on the devastating impact of gang violence, loss, and the hope for change amidst the chaos. Throughout the story, the characters grapple with loyalty, betrayal, and the tragic consequences of living within a cycle of violence that seems impossible to escape.
