Blue Abstraction (2012): Cast

A performance video by Naufus Ramírez-Figueroa, this work presents a young man standing still beside a rural road. The artist approaches, using blue paint and a brush to cover the man’s clothing and body in broad strokes. The video, filmed in a continuous six-and-a-half-minute take, explores themes of disappearance and historical cinema, referencing how early film stock often rendered blue objects white. The artist ultimately walks away, leaving the painted figure standing motionless in the landscape.
