Sergione, a fifty‑year‑old tattoo artist weighing 260 kg, has spent his entire life in the working‑class Palermo district of Bosco Grande, where he was once a legendary punk rebelling against the 1980s mafia. Decades later he still loiters outside his mother’s house, using drugs and partying with old street friends. Whenever Giuseppe Schillaci returns home, Sergione entertains him with tragicomic stories and yearning for escape. As seasons pass his health worsens; he briefly enters a super‑obese treatment center, flees after a month, and returns to his “live fast, die young” spiral of addiction.
