Two brothers, Vibhooti “Vibhu” Vaidya and Chiraunji Vaidya, run a counterfeit exorcism business that preys on people’s deepest superstitions. They roll into a Rajasthan village with the aim of “exorcising” a girl, only to discover she’s faking possession to sidestep an arranged marriage. Rather than expose her, they pivot to helping by staging a convincing exorcism, turning a scam into a real-feeling act of aid that unsettles the locals and tests their own ethics.

At a Tantric fair, Ullat Baba—their father Umedji Vaidya—left behind a cryptic ancient book that hints at a legacy of protection against dark forces. As they flee from Inspector Chedilal, they meet Maya Kulbhushan Maya Kulbhushan, who travels to Dharamshala seeking their expertise to handle a supernatural crisis plaguing her life.

Maya reveals that 27 years ago their father banished a malevolent spirit, the Kichkandi, from her family’s tea estate. Now the Kichkandi has returned, terrorizing the workers and reopening old wounds tied to the land and their family. Despite Vibhooti’s initial skepticism, the brothers dig into the spirit’s tragic backstory, uncovering why this entity lingers and harbors a tether to Maya’s lineage. In a pivotal moment, Vibhooti accidentally unleashes the Kichkandi, and Maya falls under possession, forcing a shift from con artistry to true danger.

Initially planning to fake another exorcism, Vibhooti comes to grips with a chilling truth: the ghost is real. The brothers realize the Kichkandi is searching for her daughter, Titli Meena, a ghost Vibhooti had encountered earlier, weaving personal history into the haunting. Armed with their father’s lore and a growing sense of responsibility, they marshal the pieces of ancient knowledge to guide the restless spirits toward peace, aiming to reunite the mother and daughter and lay their turmoil to rest.

In the film’s closing act, Maya and her sister Kanika Kulbhushan begin to reconcile, signaling a fragile harmony between the living and the dead. The story ends with a cheeky tease of a possible sequel—one that could expand the universe to include creatures like werewolves and vampires, hinting at darker, broader adventures to come while leaving the door open for more lessons from Ullat Baba’s enduring legacy.
