Based on a true story, the film follows Dan Saxon, a cop with a troubled childhood who is fired after a confrontation with his corrupt boss at the sheriff’s office, a boss who secretly collaborates with a biker gang called the Jackals, led by their president Blood. Conroy Price, an agent from Arizona’s State Attorney General’s office, recruits him to go undercover to break up the drugs and arms trafficking network. Saxon struggles at first, until he meets Virgil, a mechanic who drags him into the seedy world of outlaw motorcycle clubs.
Virgil teaches Saxon about bikes and the customs of the outlaw motorcycle brotherhood, helping him craft a new identity, Sid, and preparing him to infiltrate the Jackals and win the confidence of [Blood]. Meanwhile, Saxon begins a relationship with photojournalist Renee Jason, who knows about his double life and stays by him as the danger grows.
As the undercover mission deepens, Saxon becomes increasingly unbalanced. A violent incident — the murder of a 20-year-old convenience-store attendant — snaps him back to a harsher reality. Price informs the authorities of Saxon’s true identity, drawing praise for the undercover operation from local, state, and federal agencies. The sting leads to over 200 arrests, including the capture of [Blood]. The film closes with Saxon walking into the desert, and an epilogue reveals that he and Renee have started anew in California while Blood receives three consecutive life sentences.
