In a tense late-2020s landscape, the story unfolds around a high-stakes power play between a private military group and global alliances. In September 2027, NATO forces scramble to evacuate Georgia, framing Pax Armata as a seemingly peaceful transfer of control. But the situation quickly spirals when Gunnery Sergeant Dylan Murphy and his Tempest 1-2 squad are ambushed by Pax forces during a briefing. Murphy rallies his team to strike at the heart of Pax’s cybersecurity ambitions, destroying critical installations to stop Pax from seizing key digital infrastructure. Their daring mission comes at a terrible cost: their extraction helicopter is shot down, the squad is nearly wiped out, and they are left encircled and overwhelmed.
