An anonymous person murders SI Mahesh Deshpande and Dr. Srinivas Iyengar. After an intense cat-and-mouse chase with the police, the killer is caught in a truck accident and is taken into custody. The CBI appoints Vijaykumar to investigate, who later interrogates the suspect. In the interrogation room, the person reveals himself as Bharath, a real estate dealer, who narrates that Jayaraj (a real estate kingpin), Dr. Srinivas Iyengar, and SI Mahesh Deshpande had tortured Bharath for many days and had brainwashed Anjali to commit suicide during their wedding anniversary.

Vijaykumar investigates the case and learns from Anjali (who is actually alive) and a psychiatrist that Bharath suffers from schizophrenia, which led him to believe Anjali was killed by them. Bharath is admitted to NIMHANS for treatment but escapes the asylum, tracks Jayaraj to his nightclub, and whisks him away in a sheep truck. A complaint from a lawyer following a minor accident prompts Vijay Kumar to suspect Bharath is feigning illness; the investigation then reveals that the murders were planned by Bharath, Anjali’s family, and Bharath himself. He brings Bharath and Anjali’s family together to uncover the truth behind the killings.

It is revealed that Bharath was in love with Ashwini, Anjali’s sister, who is pursuing her MS in Bellary. Ashwini learns from Sanyappa and his wife Lakshmavva about illegal mining that contaminates water, causes disease, and destroys villages and their infant child. Ashwini urges villagers to protest to the DC, but the next morning she is found dead, and the incident is reported to SI Deshpande. Madhusudhan, a cabinet minister, and his partner Jayaraj are connected to the crime, with Deshpande and Dr. Iyengar also implicated. They orchestrated the massacre when villagers prepared to make a complaint. Ashwini is buried, and Sanyappa, who escaped the massacre, later reveals Bharath’s involvement.

Devastated, Bharath and his family plan to avenge Ashwini’s death and distract the police. After revealing the truth, Anjali explains that Bharath has brought Jayaraj and Madhusudhan to a mining den where Vijay Kumar heads toward the site. In the confrontation at the mine, Bharath kills Madhusudhan and Jayaraj with a haul truck, avenging Ashwini’s death. Sanyappa dies in a fire started by the truck accident. Bharath surrenders to the police, and media reports confirm the deaths of Jayaraj and Madhusudhan in the mining accident. The mine is seized and authorities promise strict action against illegal mining. Three months later, Vijay Kumar arranges a false registration to protect Bharath from prison, believing he acted to do the right thing. Bharath is released and reunited with his family.
