Spoilers ahead
Ayn Rand & the Prophecy of Atlas Shrugged is a feature-length documentary that dives into the renewed interest surrounding Ayn Rand’s epic and controversial 1957 novel and asks whether its stark forecast for America still holds true today. The film places viewers in Rand’s own frame of reference, describing the world she called the day after tomorrow—a nation strained to its breaking point by a tangled web of government oversight and powerful business interests that seem to drain initiative and reward dependence. In this telling, the struggle is not a straightforward plot but a philosophical clash, pitting altruism against self-interest and posing a persistent question: am I my brother’s keeper?
