In the Florida Everglades, a hidden world thrives beneath the murky depths: a colony of gigantic, intelligent leeches that stay out of sight until they strike. When a local fisherman is violently killed near the swamp, game warden Steve Benton begins a careful investigation, brushing aside early claims from authorities that a simple alligator was to blame. The mystery deepens as the swamp seems to cloak its secrets, and the surrounding community grows anxious about what might lurk just beneath the surface.
